Organic Cotton
Organic cotton is produced without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilisers and is certified to the highest organic agricultural standards. It is grown without the use of genetically modified seeds and uses less energy and water than conventional cotton farming. This helps to improve soil conditions, promote biodiversity, and lead to better health and living conditions for cotton growers.

Masai are also part of the Better Cotton Initiative which is the largest cotton sustainability programme in the world. It is committed to helping improve cotton farming practises globally, and respecting workers' rights and wellbeing.
ECOTEC® Yarn
A new generation of smart cotton with a completely traceable and certified production cycle. Used by our brands such as Luella and Mama B, ECOTEC® yarn creates garments that are completely reusable at the end of their life cycle.
No Waste Collection - Henriette Steffensen
An honourable mention within our new season collections is Henriette Steffensen's no-waste garments. These pieces have been produced using off-cuts from their main collection, minimising the amount of waste material created during the production of their ranges, but also providing some amazing, limited-edition garments that pair perfectly alongside their collections!
OEKO-TEX® Certified Fabrics and Dyes
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety. Our brands that are OEKO-TEX® certified include THING and Henriette Steffensen.
Leather
Gemini supports brands that use leather created as a by-product of the food industry, vegan leather and those that are part of the Leather Working Group (a non-profit organisation responsible for the world’s leading environmental certification for the leather manufacturing industry). Tencel© Lyocell
Also known as modal, Tencel© branded Lyocell fibres are derived from wood pulp and can blend well with cotton to create a very breathable, durable and biodegradable fabric.
Merino Wool and Yarn
Merino Wool is composed of proteins that are biodegradable and environmentally friendly whilst merino yarn is a natural, sustainable fibre that is gentle on the environment. These materials are used by Emu Australia and Foil.
PETA-Approved Vegan Fur
A number of our brands, such as Rino & Pelle and Helen Moore are proudly PETA-vegan approved meaning their garments, shoes and bags are made with 100% vegan alternatives.
Sustainable Rayon
Rayon is a natural-based fabric made from purified cellulose fibres from wood pulp or cotton. Similar to cotton, rayon is breathable and moisture-absorbent. Sustainable rayon only uses timber sourced from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. Orientique uses Livaeco by Birla Cellulose rayon, which is FSC-certified, and high in traceability due to the blockchain technology used.
