Guest Blog: Shakespeare Distillery's Negroni recipe!
This week, we have a guest feature from Shakespeare Distillery on our blog to mark Shakespeare’s birthday on 23rd April. We love being based in a town with such a rich history, we only have to walk two minutes to be right outside of Shakespeare’s birthplace!
Shakespeare Distillery have kindly shared their Negroni recipe with the new ‘1588 Navy Strength Gin’, so read along to discover how to recreate this classic cocktail!
About the gin:
'Introducing ‘1588’, our latest Navy Strength Gin, which sails in at a hearty 57% ABV, paying homage to England’s maritime triumph over the Spanish Armada. Inspired by the fruits and spices of 16th-century trade routes, we’ve combined delicious flavours of Orange and Currants with the warming spices of Cinnamon, Ginger, Allspice, Rosemary, Coriander and Angelica. The resulting juniper-led gin has a wonderful fruity and robust finish which certainly packs a punch.'
The recipe:
Ingredients:
- 25 ml 1588 Navy Strength Gin
- 25 ml Aperol / Campari
- 15 ml Sweet Vermouth to taste
- Orange Zest
How to make:
- Add the ingredients to a stirring glass filled with ice
- Stir until chilled, at least 20 times.
- Pour into a rocks glass with fresh ice and squeeze orange zest over the glass.
