Shakespeare Birthday Celebrations!
This weekend is a big tradition for Stratford Upon Avon – Shakespeare’s Birthday Celebrations! Since 1824, Shakespeare’s Birthday has been celebrated in Stratford-upon-Avon and grown over time. Free entry to All Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Properties if you are a CV37 resident plus the RSC have a huge array of free activities for the whole family including free entry to the tower, live music and arts & crafts in the theatre foyer and puppet street theatre outside.
This years Shakespeare’s Birthday Celebrations Parade starts at 10:30am on Saturday 25th April with Shakespeare’s Big Birthday Cake makes a welcome return to the parade, freshly decorated with a ‘Battle of Agincourt’ theme. The parade itself starts in Sheep Street and moves around the town following Shakespeare from cradle (the Birthplace) to grave (Holy Trinity Church).

12.00: Shakespeare Birthday Luncheon on Avonbank Gardens
12.30: Shakespeare’s birthday cupcakes - Stratford College will be handing out their Shakespeare’s birthday cupcakes from a bespoke stand on the Waterside.
1:00 Viewing of floral tributes to Shakespeare around his grave at Holy Trinity Church
1:00 – 2:00 Knights & Nymphs toddler party for families with children under 5 at Hall’s Croft Gardens
4:30 The Great Morris Flashmob on Bancroft Gardens
Sunday sees the return of the Stratford Marathon if you’re heading into town remember there are road closures.
