Welcome Our New Food Blogger
Food blogger Janey Green Slice of Slim will be contributing to our new blog shortly sharing her recipes for healthy eating and how to keep the weight off! So to introduce her to the Gemini family we invited the lovely Janey to our studio for a photo-shoot in our new Spring styles.
Janey was styled by Elizabeth our Ecommerce Assistant, Janey told us before she came that she shied away from bright colours but we wanted to try the opposite and bring her out of her usual style.
The first outfit was Sandwich Clothing Tencel Chambray Dress, which we wanted to brighten up with accessories including a coral purse bag, mixed triangle print scarf and orange Cefalu wedges!
The second outfit we went for a beautiful lemon floral look with the Diamond Days Blazer by Great Plains layered over Avoca Floral Horti Top then some comfy French Connection Eleven Jeans with Marco Tozzi Imit Suede Heels, which are a bargain at £29!
The third outfit we went for an aqua look with Avoca Cloisonne T-shirt (which we have in a dress too) paired with Sandwich Clothing Essentials Skinny Cropped Pants and a Sandwich Essentials Cotton Cardigan for them cool days. The perfect shoes to complement this outfit were our new brand Elia B Sandra ballet pump and Sandwich Cord Closure Bag.
The fourth outfit is from our new Sandwich Fresh Starts Collection, Janey is wearing Triangle Mix Top with a Soft Lilac Slub Cardigan tied over it and then Great Plains Beige Jeans and a Becksondergaard Wilma Bag in Rosewood. The Marco Tozzi Heels make an appearance again!
For the fifth outfit we went for the monochrome look: We decided to style Janey in the Great Plains Night and Day Culottes as she said she loved palazzo pants she wore them with the Great Plains White Date Night Tee and Summer Sling Sandal in black.
Janey’s final outfit was our new Avoca Plume Knot Dress which she dressed up with the Becksondergaard Granny Clutch and then dressed down by throwing on French Connection Western Denim Jacket.
How did you start your blog?
Having lost 4 .5 stone/62lbs - the majority of it with Weightwatchers although it was exciting it dawned on me that now I have to do this for the rest of my life. People were asking me how I lost the weight and I felt like I had a lot to say and share about my weight loss journey. I love innovating recipes and reassuring people that it doesn’t have to be a terrible time you can still eat lots and enjoy food. The blog is a great incentive to keeping my weight off and a great way to bring all my skills together.
Do you have any tips for healthy eating for SS15?
Think vibrant colours: fruit and vegetables. Fill up on them and add some tuna or a bit of chicken don’t deprive yourself.
What is your favourite food?
I love filling up of fresh fruit and vegetables but I do love pasta where I make courgette spaghetti.
Favourite trend for SS15?
Denim jackets and scarves. I don’t wear a lot of patterns but I bring them in with accessories.
Favourite outfit from today?
I was really pleasantly surprised with the all the outfits. I loved the Avoca dress as it was very versatile and I could dress it down with the denim jacket. French Connection jeans were a perfect fit aswell.
