Fashion & Makeup Looks Perfect For New Year
As part of our Christmas blog series, we were pleased to have Makeup Artist Jill Yardley into the gemini-woman studio, to recreate some classic Christmas looks. So, whether you want to get cosy on Christmas Eve with a glass of mulled wine and a snuggly jumper, or dress up with a red lip and heeled boots on Christmas Day, we have it covered.
Christmas Eve
Great Plains Icicle Beaded Blouse / Robell Trousers Star Jeans / Great Plains Vienna Faux Fur Gilet / Kennel Und Schmenger Ambra Crystal Stud Ankle Boot
"I have chosen a berry lip to compliment the outfit, teamed with plum and gold shades on the eyes. The shirt is uber glamourous and I have never worn a more comfortable pair of jeans! Cool colours suit me best and you will always find them in my pallette, which is why I loved the Great Plains gilet so much. Brows are so important and can be a makeup feature that is often overlooked, I will always comb, fill and define my brows with powder and a sculpter, and then set in place with a brow fix gel to create the perfect arched shape."
Cosy Christmas Drinks
Amazing Woman Daniella Poncho / Amazing Jeans Venus Skinny Jean / Pranella Laurie Hoop Necklace / Kennel Und Schmenger Blues Suede Flat Boot
"My make up look is casual but polished, with a subtle smokey eye, plum lip and just a touch of shimmer. I always start any daytime look with a flawless complextion, using a foundation brush to ensure everything is perfectly blended, shortly followed with some contouring, highlighting and a brush of blush on the Apple of the cheeks, to add a warm Christmas glow. This has to be my go-to snuggle outfit. Ideal to wear cuddled up infront of the fire, or out to a cosy country pub."
Christmas Day
Sandwich Clothing Ikat Print Dress / Dansk Smykekkunst Olga Bracelet / Kennel Und Schmenger Liz Kitten Heels / Pia Rossini Monroe Faux Fur Scarf
"This cool green is a perfect colour for brunettes. It's such an easy dress to wear and perfect if your planning a little gastronomic indulgence! ;) *Hello Christmas Turkey*. My make up look is sophisticated-glamour! To create an easy smokey eye, I start with a cream base and then contour my socket with either a medium toned grey or brown. For a pop of colour I added some green metallic pigment on the centre of the eyelid liner. Add lashes and a red lip for a festively feminine and flirty look!"
New Years
Twist & Tango Jay Dress / French Connection Platform Felt Coat / Dansk Smykekkunst Octavie Necklace
"The perfect dress to feel sassy and stylish at any New Year celebration, my make up look is equally as glamourous with metallic pigments of silver and green, pressed onto a smokey eye. Contouring and strobing under and over the cheekbones is a must for this look. Finish with a red lip for the perfect pout, not forgetting to fill the lip in with a liner beforehand. You could also add a touch of shimmer above your cupids bow and other areas of your body and add a touch of gloss to the centre of your bottom lip!"
